Surprise! My first memoir has turned into two memoirs.
 

2.1 She Chose You! continues the reinvention story that began in 2.0 You Are Awesome!, picking up at the moment when rebuilding seemed to have paid off. After leaving a life that no longer fit and learning to stand on my own again, I stepped into a relationship that appeared to offer what I had been missing: clarity, commitment, and the relief of being chosen.
 

This love story is layered from the start. It is the first same-sex relationship for both my partner and me, navigated without precedent or shared language. An eighteen-year age gap quietly shapes power, pacing, and vulnerability, while cultural differences influence how closeness, conflict, and emotional responsibility are expressed. The relationship unfolds in waves—connection followed by hesitation, reassurance followed by distance. There are roller coasters, but they are easy to minimize once hope takes hold.
 

When my partner ultimately chose me, the moment felt decisive. Like an answer at the end of a long question. I reframed the earlier instability as understandable: fear, inexperience, cultural friction, the growing pains of a first queer relationship. What mattered most is the outcome. She chose me.
