I Write Things

At forty-one, my life turned upside down and inside out. I packed my VW Golf in Indiana and drove south to Atlanta chasing a new career — but what I found was an entirely new version of myself. Two years later, I was in a different kind of love, had a cat instead of seven dogs, tattoos instead of trepidation, and a taste for wheat ale I swore I’d never like.

That story became 2.0 You Are Awesome, a memoir about transformation, identity, and the sometimes hilarious, sometimes heartbreaking chaos of starting over midlife.

Now, I’m writing its companion, 3.0 You’ve Got This — a raw and hopeful reflection on rebuilding again at forty-nine, when all the lessons from before seemed to unravel. It’s about rediscovering purpose, learning to be comfortable alone, and realizing that reinvention doesn’t have an expiration date.

I live in Atlanta, Georgia, with my cat and dog — two quiet witnesses to the latest chapter of becoming. Writing, for me, is both a reckoning and a reminder: we are all allowed to begin again — as many times as it takes.
